That was harsh xTc, and yeah, I think its DES or something which looks exactly like it :P, you could crack it with JTR, (John the Ripper) Google

ok so i have stuck root:$1$yv3Abum2$aBJTZYOFpyHnpbmycH/Nn/ into john the ripper, and although you lot have said its DES JTR says it is FreeBSD MD5. Anyone got any clues? and can someone try and crack it for me plz.

crack your own encryptions. thats how it works

why dont you google it to find out what it is.

maybe JTR is right maybe it is FreeBSD Md5… so go crack it. If you cant.. thats kind of the poin of the encryption.. so that you cant crack it. :happy:
