Well i was sitting here just talking to a girl on AIM, about whats your favorite band and such, and as im typing all of a sudden my text turns to "I like avril lavigne". At that point i was like, holy **** someone is hacking me. So, me being the smartass i am, i type in the chat box "who is this" and i just let it stay there for a few minutes. A couple minutes later another AIM box opens (someone offline ) and is says "oh you want to know who this is?" in MY chat area. I freaked out. I said "yes" and he erased my "yes" and put "open up notepad". Ok, so i open notepad and i type "who is this and how did you gain access to my computer? ". He replied, "That doesnt matter right now, all you need to know is that im not here to hurt your computer in any way, just a test case." (mind you i have spyware/virus protection(trend micro pcillin)). He told me he had been in my computer for a good month, just sitting and watching me and what i was doing. He kept reassuring me that he wasnt going to do anything "malicious" to my computer and just wanted to see how well his methods were working.(very well with me sitting here like ) Me being the nice guy i am, thanked him and still asked him how he got into my computer. He(also a very nice guy) replied with a statement that i couldnt really get any information out of, but he said something about open ports and him getting access through them. I also asked him if there was any way to protect my computer from anything else like this happening, and he replied "Well, you see anti virus companies are trying to stop people from hacking/viruses, but pioneers like us are just out here trying to get past them and create more ways to gain access to computers in the world." I was still in shock, because every time i would open up my task manager to look at the processes, he would just exit out of it. He was basically controlling every aspect of my computer and could really do some damage if he was angry at the world or just wanted to be malicious. I am still baffled as to how he was controlling literally EVERYTHING (even my mouse) and he told me that he was leaving, and would never come back, and he reassured me yet again that he didnt hurt my computer. I thanked him for being such a nice guy and i told him i loved him and wanted to learn his ways.

Well i read this thread on another forum and i must say i dont believe a single word of it, is this actually possible?

Im obviously new to hacking

Doubt it but I dunno. It's either impossible or something to do with remote desktop… I think. Hehe no idea. Pointless post really.

I have had someone in my comp. I moved my own mouse but he was able to close out of my task manager. He also installed stuff on my comp as well as opened a chat box of his own that we were talking in. Sadly he wasn't as nice as the one you encountered, but I still had fun watching what he was doing until I formatted my computer. :D I just simply gave him a round of applause for getting in; and asked him how he did it of course. But he wasn't nice enough to even let me learn from him. My guess is like the one before, remote administration.

Mmhmm. It is actually very possible. The truth in the matter is most people don't ever use a firewall AND anti-virus at the same time. Normally it will be one or the other. If you do not use a firewall your "ports" (It is how a computer is able to send data over an intranet/ internet) will be unblocked and accessing a system becomes relatively easy. Yes it is possible to gain full control over a system in such a way. In fact using a port is the only way to do anything to another system whatsoever. i.e. No network (intra/inter), no open ports. In conclusion, get a firewall, it lowers the chances of such a thing happening. A decent free one is called zone alarm, its made by zonelabs. If you can't afford a firewall, donwload this one http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1001_cnet_zdnet/zlsSetup_65_737_000_en.exe

Likely scenario's:-

This person was suffering from schizophrenia and was talking to themself.

Was a sucker to social engineering and downloaded a Remote Assistance tool.

The persons eyes were so focussed on the screen, a friend came in, hid under the desk and wrote little messages.

lol @ flash I think it's plausible. It could be a trojan that was made by that guy and apparently he had enough spare time to spend on that trojan to improve it so it was capable of doing all those details. In fact it's not that wierd i guess :p

Well… windows have a built in tool which is able to do all this so it shouldn't be too hard to make one by yourself.

He got SE'd and d/led a RA tool….. If I had to make a guess it would be Sub7. The ultimate uber leet skiddie trojan hax pack bundle!! However, Flashs other 2 scenarios are pretty attractive possibilities also…..

mypic.exe anyone???????

bo2k 0wn'd, is my guess. Or it could be Sub7, though I think sk's would love downloading their shit off of big scary cDc.

I can't image any AV not catching Sub7 or BO2k. More likely it was a home-made one. Can't rule out the person under the desk, though…

Oh really, thanks for pointing that out..i never noticed before!

About the remote desktop, i thought that if someone logged in, the previous user was logged out..or is there another way?

Honestly I believe that did happen; the Firewall can be hacked by using TCP/IP "packets" can't it?..I'm no genius but TCP/IP is resonsible for sending and receiving and preparing information and I think those lead into the firewall so maybe he did get through your Firewal and that might be how..idk. BUt the remote desktop thing is 100% possible I know that for a fact.

Easily believe-able, firewalls are not perfect and the remote desktop thing could have been one of those silly vnc dll injections

While I can't verify the validity of the OP's post in question, I can certify that the person who was being "hacked" is utterly stupid.

Unplug your RJ11 or RJ46 cord, and then close his rear out with Task Manager.

If he [The Hacker] hadn't rootkitted the hackee's system, then it wasn't serious, or the hacker in question wasn't quite smart. My guess is the first one, if the story is true, but other than that, this only examplifies how stupid some people are. It's not too hard to close out something that basic as, no internet connection means no remote control.

But yeah, it's totally doable, granted you have an exploit that gives you the privelages to do such a thing.

My guess is Amanda20. A very good Trojan/spyware program. Could have easily gotten past AV and used a port scanner. IP is usually no problem to find.

if the hacker managed to gain access im sure it cud be done with some program like vnc if he installed it whilst the hackee wasnt looking. another more likely scenario is (if it actualy happened) is that a mate of his or sum1 for a laugh installed a remote desktop tool from a pendrive or cd when the hackee was distracted or hes a real n00b and downloaded summit stupid

There are many plossible ways this could occur.

Remote Desktop (Been said many times) SK Tool (Again many times said) VNC (Virtual Network Computing)

Those are the three most known ways for this to happen.

The last one which no one EVER thinks of for some reason is very common. It allows people to remotely control another desktop like a SK tool only this is used in the corporate world A LOT.

It does not matter if you have firewall AND anti-virus running at the same time. My windows machine does not run an antivirus and I have never been infected for more than 1 day. It is all in the user. I could bring down my firewall and you still would not connect to me. All I am saying is the user is the problem. There are many tools that can do all this shit that is in this post but the problem is which one :P

Ahh I remember when I was a small SK many years ago, and we played with NetBus and Back Orifice…

This case could be true, no doubt about it. If you can code a network application you can code a backdoor :p

Amen to that.

This kid i know give a presentation about how not to use P2P asnd not download illegal music. Why his brother was downloading P2P and downloaded a virus, but still he passionately hates P2P (the guys unless anyway bu decides the point, i dont think he uses computers that much) Yet he doesnt blame his idoitic brother but the downloading of illegal P2P stuff.

I blame his slow brother
