Hiding IP address.

Is there any other way to hide my IP address besides firefox?Just in the computer in general. I just want to hide my IP address so i can be hidden while hacking. Just in curiosity and I'm tired of trying out the proxies that doesn't work on my firefox. So I wanted to know if there is a way I can hide my whole IP address by a program?Thanks.:)

firefox wont hide your ip.

simple answer = a "proxy" will hide your IP

standard answer = a proxy wont "hide" your IP, a proxy is only a bounce inbetween your target and you. you -> proxy -> target. logs of most common proxies are easily avaible if you have the cash.

find out what TOR is and understand how it works, then you'll have a good understanding of proxies etc

Oh okay, but I just want to hide my IP address from everyone. That's basically what I want to do.

lol if that were possible, it would be pretty hard to catch the hacker, not saying impossible, but quite hard.

well, a simple solution is unplug your computer from the inet. then you have no IP. yes you cant do any hacking, but you cant be traced. :-p

Proxys hid your ip but if you did something like a deface etc =then your going to get traced alot more.Meaning there going to try and find your ip.So then go find a program there is programs out there

if your looking for a proxy server that is on the fewest amount of school block lists try www.thefreeproxy.net or securetunnel.com

Use a proxy, get tor, lots of guides on the interweb………

there is actually a cool program i know of proxifier it randomly changes proxys every so often making it extremly hard for people to get your ip google it its like the first one download is only for 30 days then you gotta buy it well if you want to go about it the legal way lol :evil:

try getting a program called torpark. it changes your ip too, and makes it harder to pinpoint who's doing what.

I think you are talking about manually entering proxy addresses into fierfox from a proxy list and hopeing they work. Good luck, any way proxies evean tor are not solid and are often run by the government or people scanning all packets flowing thure them. Torpark is a good Tor if you want to trust random servers that annyone could be watching. The best way to remane anonymous is to war drive with a cash bought laptop and wireless card that you changed the Mac address on (if you don't know what war driving is google it). If you are stuck on a desktop try using Anonym.OS: LiveCD.

I think there are two real questions being thrown around here. 1.) What can hide my ip while on the internet and web hacking and 2.) What can hide my ip all the time

I'd like to think I know a bit about the first one, and TORpark is really good for anonymous surfing. Also research AnonOS (I think that's how its spelled), 6/4 and Camera/Shy. While you're looking into stuff to make your browsing private, check out Hacktivismo. They're one of the best sources for programs that allow you to put yourself out of the radar. If you'd like to get off the internet wholly, try Freenet. Freenet is a decentralized darknet that is very effective at privatizing your browsing. Look into it.

The second question is the one I have questions about. What program would do this? Would it actually be able to obfuscate my IP? Even doing lower level than web things like SSH, telnet, portscans, etc? If so, where can I download it:evil:?

i dont think there is anything that can keep you anonymous all the time. wouldnt that make it impossible to do anything online. If it kept anything remote from knowing your IP your IP wouldnt do you any good. but i could be wrong, it just seems that way to me

It is always going to be impossible to remain perfectly anonymous online because whatever you do there will always be some way of tracing it back to you even through hundreds of proxies.
