ICMP Flooding
I was reading about how you could do various dos attacks against websites. I know there lame, but It got me interested, so I downloaded the source code for a pinger in VB, I examined the source code and learned how it all worked, and edited it so that it would loop the pings with a 1 second TTL. and made the packets bigger. Whenever I use it on an IP my Blackice firewall turnes red and says
"[Denial of Service] This signature detects when more than 100 ICMP packets have been received by a single host within a 1 second interval. Such an event could indicate an attacker's attempt to execute a denial of service attack".
I plan on making it invisible and putting it in startup folders on my schools computers.
Would this make the network lag or anything?
thanks
Well, I actualy wasen't going to dos other websites with my schools computers. I was basicly going to make them dos themselfs lol. I found an admin account, so I can put it in a lot of different startup folders of different computers so that when anyone logs on it will run, and start dossing the main server that their website is on.
And also I just assumed everyone here thought dossing was kinda lame. I kind of do, only because it doesen't take much skill to do, or at least this kind doesen't.
your probibly correct. But you can change the size of the ICMP packets in VB. So it uses more. Also the network is always lagging like hell anyways at my school. Or at least it used to. I dont see why Blackice registered it as such a high threat if it doesen't do anything. Probibly worked a hell of a lot better on dialup users lol
