Basically answer questions relating to computer security/hacking. Can have anything to do with hacking. Whoever gets it right FIRST gets to post the next question.

I'll start.

Movie in the 90's. Starred a hacker with the name "Zero Cool".

A number ascoiated with the name 'Genocide', who released a web site site. There have also been various promotional releases, although i don't don't know exact details. I'm pretty sure someone around here will get it, soon… So i won't say anything else :)

-Jay.

PS. I'll also add; It's a group.

The first hackers were phreakers. Besides blueboxing, how were they able to make free long distance telephone calls? Note* It doesnt involve any mechanical device.

whistle in Cap'n Crunch cereal boxes perfectly reproduced a 2600 Hertz tone. Simply blow the whistle into a telephone receiver to make free calls Thats a bluebox. He said other then blueboxes, what did they do. I personaly have no idea.

No he's right, the whistle is a different way than a blue box, FYI the blue box was a physical electronic sound synthesizer that was created by Captain crunch to create the tones necessary for free calls, the whistle is simply a plastic toy that was found in captain crunch cereal boxes that just happened to produce the tone 2600 that allowed the phones to make free calls w/o having to use a blue box, so the whistle would be correct and the bluebox is not the same thing as the whistle.

Sorry. I havent checked back

Actually you are right and also another one just whistled 2600 Hz into the phone, he was able to make 1000 mile phone calls.

Xero it was Hong Kong Blondes in 1999 right? and they "only" disabled it temporarily.

Cult of the Dead Cow. Though their "hacktivist" division is called Hacktivismo. One of those "lucky" guys also advised Bill Clinton on internet security back in the day. They were the ones who invented Back Orifice, for those of you who don't know. Bow to the Cow!
