Okay lets see.

  1. Knowledge (without this anything else is useless)
  2. Web Server (this is great for testing theories)
  3. Not following rules (Allows you to say "Hey you know THIS could work!")
  4. Morals (Enables you to decipher right from wrong and where to draw the line)
  5. Programming Skillz (If you can program it you can 'UN-Program' it)

ok this is about tools, so i will not say "brain" or "knowledge" as it is necesary in everything, and isn't quite a "tool".

so, my top TOOLS are

firefox,jtr(or cain), olly(sometimes hex editor),netcat, nmap.

also, the best ftp i've seen is core ftp.
