hey all, I have a friend with REALLY gay fuckin parrents. they installed this on her comp: http://www.contentwatch.com/products/home.php

now, it makes it so that she can not access the internet after midnight, and it logs all info going in and out of the internet, including voice conversations on skype, ims, viewed sites, etc.

anyone know how she can get past it? if you can help…then do so! its a pain in the ass -.-

:right::right::right::right::right:

Assuming this is a windows system

Start the computer in safe mode (you can log in as admin without a pwd) Uninstall/Edit program rights

Failing that Scream about web censorship etc

thinks for a better plan….

Take you computer, its better if you have on a the old style massive moniters, and run screaming through the house shouting about how its not worth having if you dont actually have the internet. Try to carry as much of the computer as you can accessories and cd's included at the one time. (or get a wheel barry and put it all in it!) There bond to get the message:happy:

the only thing tht i can suggest is change the names of some of the files in the install dir coz tht'd fuck up the programme i cant test fully cos it fucks with my firewall but the install dir is sumin like this

"C:\Program Files\ContentWatch\Internet Protection\gui\cwmain.exe"

i suggest changing the names of tht whole folder or just deleting it

:S:xx:

ok, first off….u need to make sure ur an admin, as that kind of software usually will not let neone mess with/edit it unless u r admin…now, if u dont want the parents to know then ur best bet is to get admin, install a keylogger and get the pass to the program, then go in and change stuff……otherwise all they will do is reinstall the program and further limit her activities

reformat your PC :-\ lol thats sure to get rid of it or you can open their app up in notepad and alter the code so it still looks like its their

you can do the same i did when i was 16 :p buy a laptop, hide it under your bed, dig holes to put UTP wires in… or make your parents buy wifi (that's what i did after :p) note: never let them find the laptop…

i accidently do have a cheap laptop for sale… mail me for further details ^^ ;)

do what mozzer says and log in as admin.

then goto the default isntall folder and start editing some config files. Dont uninstall / edit hte program, because we still want the parents to think its running ;-) so just delete any config file for it you can, that way it will run, but wont know what tasks its surposed to do and what settings to use!

works quite well, i did this on someones firewall once when i rooted them, they still thought it was running, but config files were gone so it didnt know how to detect a intrustion ;)

same princible here.

how did you get past firewall without it discovering you in the first place? :) you had to get pased it to delete the config… unless you did it when you where at his place… or you are just ev0l :p

getting past firewall was no problem in the first place, but when i wanted to install a shell listening on other ports thats when firewall became a problem so needed to be disabled. plus if the keylogger were to upload information to a site etc that will cause problems too ;)

infact if you remember i think i actually mentioned this "event" in the hbhcon.. i think.

anyways, we getting off topic :)

there are some good idears on what to do here, but heres another, if u have more than 1 hdd, or only partioned a part of the other hdd, install a new partion of windows :D, aslong as your parents dont know to much about computers, i bet they wouldnt notice, then you can do what you want on it :)

good ideas guys. she doesn't have admin on her comp, only her dad does. also, we need to only temporarily disable it becuase her dad checks it every fuckin day -.-

Boot it in safe mode and get admin. Theres not a chance its protected if there running noob programs.

bummer. now, i would try to see its name in the CPU proccess list(in task manager)

i think i've seen programs able to mask or deny their deactivation, but it's worth trying.

find the right proccess and kill it everytime you want to temporarily disable the program. that can be a problem but still, just an idea.

(tancurroms and others safe mode idea will most probably work, but windows look like shit in safe mode)

Run a proxy?

There is very little you can do about the midnight thing

lol just got an idea about midnight thing… change the time on the computer if you can

to avoid posting again: mozzer: true, true, but worth trying ^^

Its called a rootkit ;)

And most content filters either wont show up in the task manager, or wont let themselves be killed.

If it does show up in the task manager however, and wont let itsself be killed, there a nifty little program called KillProcess. Its a command line utility, but extremely easy to use. If it works, try making a batch program that kills the program automatically when run.

Can you open the program, and see where to enter the password? if you can just install a keylogger, get the password and everytime you want you can access and disable it, then put it bak on wen u log off :)

Here's a new idea to solve this problem…

How about telling him/her to stand up to their parents and have them realise that they are a fuckin human-being. That censonship is not a way to protect your kids from harmful things in the world. Tell their parents to get out from that mindset of the Eisenhower era.

If a parent would just talk to their kid about these things, it would be so much better than trying to hide them.

Couldn't you just take the program out of the reg so it doesn't start on … startup PS sry i forget the reg location maby some one else here will know it :( probally in microsoft

PPS DrizztDourden… Love your sig and R.A Salvador:D

another way…

If she is useing Windows XP, go to the login screen where you choose your name. hit Ctrl+Alt+del two times (I think). and a user name and password dialog box will pop up! Now, just type in Administrator in the username part, no password. This will work as long as nobody has disabled the administrator account that is set by default when you install Windows XP. Then since you have access to everything, disable the damn thing. through add/remove programs. that might not work. the files could be hidden… Go to "tools" at the top of your windows explorer. then too "folder options…" and make it to where you can see hidden folders. The programs files must be installed somewhere… find them, delete them.

if her parents have it set up to where they can type in a username and pass, then install a keylogger on it.

try safemode. I know somebody mentioned this. but safe mode should work. Since safe mode disables all startup programs, most likely includeing that gay ass program.

Well it is really late, and I haven't read through everything. But, if you have access to an Admin account, make a new admin account. Then click Start > Run > Regedit

What were going to do it hide the account. (not sure if this has been mentioned sorry if so, just trying to help.)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList

Create a new DWORD and name it the same as the administrator account. This hides it just like the default admin account. right click on the name > modify and make sure the value is "0" to hide it (without quotes of course). And use "1" to show it.
