Alright, me and a friend found an Admin privilaged account on the server. All I had to do was go into Microsoft Word and go to "print", then "search for printer" and selected for it to show all the user names on the entire netword. and we typed in a username we thought dident have a password, and it dident! We can go into any folder we want!

but now my question is, how can I make other usernames Admin without them showing up on the Admins Group. Because I went to "computer management", and opened up the Admins Group propertys and there was all the usernames of people with admin, like the tech people and stuff includeing the name we found.

So how can I use the admin name to make other usernames Admin without them knowing?

I might know a way but not sure.

thanks

That's a pretty good idea, trying usernames from the tree. I think there's a way to edit individual rights, but I'm not sure how. Could you try making the user a part of other groups, like power user? I think it's possible to make a user part of multiple groups. There ought to be something of use in the .msc files in the system32 folder, if you don't know what you're looking for.

other than that, I really don't know.

Being a admin I don't think you can go ahead and modify other admin's information. You may need a super admin account, which for the sake of your school, hopefully it has a passwd. XD

well the main reason I want to create more Admin accounts, is so that if they change the password or delete the name we found we will still have others to use.

power user, I don't really want. because I don't think power users can get into anybodys folders, and thats kinda the point of an admin account. But power users do have more privilages than regular users, such as downloading. :)

I think we got lucky and found the only account without a pass that was Admin, because when I saw the list of all the people in the admins group, I imediately tried the ones I thought might not have a password. We just got really lucky. Now that we have it, we cant let it slip away. I must take action and make it work! :) and I don't think there is such a thing as a "super admin" your thinking of message boards ranks or something lol. I think its called debugger admin or something.

any more ideas?

lol indeed. I was just shooting the crap. I'm not too great with networking. Though, yes, I got the idea from a forum. XD

well what kind of network is it? is it just windows netwoking, or is it some other program such as novell, cuz that could make a difference too, and btw a "super admin" on regular computers in a user with SYSTEM priveldges

You have permissions to read and write files… and then you have permissions to change file permissions.

as for users, search the harddisk of the (domain) server for all files ending with .pol. these are policy files, editable with the poledit application. You just need to find your username in one of these and edit your permissions. Don't really work with windows at all, but that's what I remember from my windows OS class

As for allowing other user accounts to access these files you want to access, I would suggest changing the file permissions to allow your user to access it.

or just get the password files :D
