Well, thanks. but do you know any good articles? and I really have zero knowledge about this, so yeah. and how would installing Gentoo help? just curious.

Well, okay; you can actually install any distro you'd like (except Ubuntu). Then try running it as (local) http server, and start messing with other protocols/services. Get a feel for *nix architecture, do shit.

It makes sense in the end.
