Hacking subculture and philosophy

Hello,

I have decided to start this thread with a hope that people would participate in and share their views about this on important subculture we are all part of. What is your take on Hacker ethics, way of life, philosophy and the subculture in general? How do you see it and what do you think are the basic tenets of this idealogy? What is the way that we, the Hackers, are connected together even thought far apart from each other geographically?

hacking… i believe means finding different, and out of the box, solutions to problems; or making something do something that is wasn't intended, designed, to do.
