how to improve password cracker performance
I'm currently trying to crack a password from hbh basic 12 challenge, using John The Ripper 1.7.2 on Linux.
the problem is that the password is taking too long to crack (it's now 1 day and 5 hours spent on cracking it) and the wordlist option is useless since it doesn't give away the password, even after making my own wordlist.
I'd like some tips on how to speed up the cracking process since it's taking too long for my dear laptop.
My laptop runs a 2 ghz dual core processor with 1024 MB ram, btw.
