I was just wanting to learn something, and thought this was the best place to learn it, but I guess not. I will have to go elsewhere to find my answers.

It's not really that hard. You need to set up a phishing page and be creative. Social engineering will play a big role in this. Here's a tutorial I wrote a long long time ago and just tells you how to set up a phishing page as simply as can be.

We'll use myspace as a guinea pig since it's the most popular.

* go to myspace.com
* Press ctrl+s
* Make sure file type is web page, complete. This will save the main page (whatever you choose the page to be saved as) and then it will save all the files to embed and add in a folder. You don't need to worry about it whatsoever.
* Open up the index file (or file name you saved it under)
* Find out form values. Lucky for you I already got them.

* Now, were going to edit these in our page. Well make email email, and pass pass.(to make it easier for our PHP). Now that we got that, we'll just set the form action to file.php (or whatever you choose to name it).

* ^^This will just redirect them to myspace. You could use cURL(A php extension) and spoof the post values to actually log them in after writing the values to your accounts.html page. Now that it's set up, you can upload the files to a place like www.freehostia.com 110mb.com zendurl.com 789mb.com theres all kinds.

i joined the site like 4 months ago… and still don't know how to access someone elses hotmail account. you can't expect to learn everything at the snap of a finger. just give it time and do your research.

Thank you, you provided me with some of the information I needed. Now I know that I need to learn more about phishing and that phishing is how I can do what I was trying to achieve.

you want to make sure that you phrase the question in a way such that it implies that you are going to do the bulk of the work and just want a slight nudge rather than what you posted which implies that you want someone else to do the work and tell you step-by-step how to do it.

So you know how to phish, why don't you use that then. Now all you need is some SE skills.

Hotmail itself is unhackable by a common hacker, CIA or somethign like that maybe, but not the point. You need to remember that the computers are not the weak link, the humans behind the accounts are.

Social Engineering is using that fact to exploit humans, not the superior machine that would take far longer to hack. Just take notes on a person, typically there passwords are extremely easy to guess if you know them well enough.

Phishing sites are tricking people into submitting their info into a fake site to get passwords and such, from there most people are dumb enough to use the same pass on EVERYTHING.

If you really would want to get into someone else's hotmail account, I'd recommend looking for a XSS and then use it to steal cookies or redirect to a phishing page. Trust me, XSS can be found in almost all large sites.

Examples where people have found XSS vulnerabilities in Microsoft's sites:
