Trying out Back Track

First post from backtrack, is there any guides or anything I should read on this? I get the jest of how it works without many problems, not much different from knoppix save all the tools and pen testers. That, and any way to get the res above 640x480? Thanks

Won't running "xconf" before you get into Fluxbox automatically set the res as high as it can go? I forget… it's been a while since I played with Backtrack.

just login as root:toor and use startx and your set to go

in BT2 i always used ati, but that is not included in BT3

I for one like backtrack. What do you think of it so far. Okay, you just got it, you just took it for a glance over. Have you done much else with it yet?

If so how do you like it. Again, I simply adore backtrack. I highly recommend that OS for security purposes of course.:ninja:

Woot that thread alone inspired me to get backtrack.

Can't wait to start playing around with it.

backtrack rocks!… especially the ability to crack wepkeys access networks and plant rootkits!

but thats a whole other discussion

as well as the simple sql tools!

i've used BT2 installed to a harddisk for about 6 months now. i've switched from it to slackware. :D backtrack seemed to me to be no better as an OS than any other distro, the real thing about it is ease. you dont have to bother setting up lots of the apps you would use. so, really its just a slax box with apps installed.
