Free Gary [the famous Pentagon hacker]

<a href='http://www.spy.org.uk/freegary/'><img src='http://www.spy.org.uk/freegary/archives/fg100.jpg' style='margin:5px;' align='right'>A British hairdresser turned computer hacker who is wanted by US federal prosecutors. MacKinnon is accused of committing "the biggest military hack ever." MacKinnon says he wasn't being malicious; he just wanted to find out if the US government was withholding information about UFOs.

The US Gouvernment wants to extrodite him to be tried in the US, where he could face harsher punishments with possible 80 years in prison. Which is more than double the sentence of a single murderer.

Support Gary, and <a href='http://www.spy.org.uk/freegary/'>sign the petition, or even email some key people in this trail…

i didn't listen to the rideo thing yet. but if wolfmankurd is right about him deleteing 1500 users he should be fined money and stuff like that. not 80 years. i could see at the very most And i mean VERY most 10 years. god i hate this country so much.

Hmmm… I don't think you guys realize how serious his actions could potentially have been… hacking into military servers could have provided him with valuable military secrets (we don't really know his true motives) which he could have sold on the black market to terrorists. Even though his intentions may not have been malicious, his actions are considered a form of espionage, a crime which is unacceptable in any form. However, I do agree with iamgodoffire in the fact that 80 years is harsh.

But you know what is the most annoying part, the Government of my country is just punishing him because they were more stupid than a almost completely stoned ufo obsessed hair dresser… how fu*king pathetic; I truly truly do despise how stupid my country is becoming…

I apologize to the world, Deshouleres

80 years does seem a bit extreme. But what can I say. The guy hacked into a US government system, destroyed data, and was searching for data that he wasn't authorized to see.

Illegal painted all over it. No petition or protest can change this. The man is being accused of what he did.

This is why when you go to the extreme (hacking the government), your safety measures and anonymity must also go to the extreme.

yes what he did was wrong. but how can you be charged double than that of a murderer. This guy didnt harm anyone, and was intelligent. 80 years if fucking ridiculas.

No, 80 years is definetly extreme, maybe a FEW years, but as for "Wow thats really stupid. The US gov sucks. Everyone should sign the petition. I did. Hell i live in the US. "FUCK THE POLICE"" That is stupid. What do you think wouldve happened? Accessing confidential information, dont say they suck because they're not slapping him on the wrist and making him say sorry.

actually he said he wasnt smart. lol. And he also said technicly he wasnt a hacker. Everyone at the 2600 meetings he went to laughed at him because he used remotley anywhere to get in. lol. But I do agree. I signed the pet. and sent emails. I live in the USA and would like to also appologize to every on how stupid my country really is. I also think we should just get a shit load of people to hack em and shut em down for a week or so. That would teach them. But then again we would have to go into hiding to. lol.

what? honestly does he know anything? sounds like my little brother could do something like that.

That is what I was thinking. If my gov. is stupid enough to leave blank admin passwords, then hell, they deserve it! They need to get hacked and to have their secrets stolen. They might even need a multi mass hack to just take over their computers and have the hackers control their system, for a little while that is, then turn it back over with messages all over telling them to secure their shit! Fuck my gov.

Why say fuck the US? Are you blind? If you break into a US computer (or any other country's for that matter), knowing it's wrong, you are going to be tried, it isnt like the US is going to be like 'dont do that again, you naughty boy'. You think they're going to not care if he wasnt being malicious?=\
