Hackers in Britain

Hackers in Britain

Well, until the hacker news is in place I beleave this deserves to be said..

Hackers in Britain hacked a very well used train station and the results were truly fatal.

The alleged hackers got a list of social security numbers and every other bit of information on every worker at a very well used and known train station. Using the information they extracted almost 22 thousand Euro. thats almost 26.2 thousand USD.

The hackers amazingly remained anonymous and the government is just now going into investigation.

This sort of media attention is what gives hackers a bad name, but then again shows how much the world of hackers knows.

make sure to comment.

These people give hackers a bad name… Petty theives is more accurate… I mean yeah well done you got into a train stations servers, and you did it without being caught. That's all nice and great but the moment you started taking shit you stopped being a hacker and became another loser ruining the meaning of the word "hacker". I mean even if you get in, you don't start messing with shit, you let the owner know how you got in and how to fix it, it's just common kindness. My favorite method is leaving little files around the computer that describe the attack and how to repair it…

The point of getting access to the box is just that, to gain access. Forget the money, it's the challenge that we're after….

People like this piss me off because I know that I'm not a loser or a theif and it's hard enough doing what we do and still keep a good rep. Just today I got interrogated at my school because some kid looked over a shoulder and stole a teachers password, and they think I did it…

That was a awesome job but bad publicity its all good that just goes to show you that hackers can do almost anything and get away with it

It all comes down to ethics. What that hacker did was wrong because he stole from innocent people who had no way of protecting themselves. Not only that, but money is not easily replaced. Hackers who hack for knowledge may stumble apon secret documents and files, copy them for their own learning, and leave. Companies may claim for damages, but look what happened with Mitnik. The governemt wanted to fine him millions.. all he got fined in the end was about $4000. Where do your ethics lie? I personally want to learn more so I can target spammers and phishers. They have no place in this world…

sorry but i dont buy into all this self justice crap, i would like to share my point of view.

what they did may be wrong but then you entrust your money to a bank, and they have to deal with it, if they dont, well wouldnt that be a glitch in the system, as for stealing, i think its wrong, but then that would be down to my ethics, and if they could justify what they did in their minds, you probably could too, pov would probably sway you and id just like to add this "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts,"

ps. ffs, dont start that hacker/cracker terminoligy, a cracker CRACKS software!
