Well it's been rumored for months. People have made their own prototypes in Photoshop and have googled for a lifetime for more information but Apple have finally released it.

according to Yahoo! news it will be 499$ Shit, you could buy a treo for 400$, that has the palm built in with camera, phone, and mp3 player plus 4 gig sd card would come out to about the same as the iphone, doesn't seem worth it to me

hahahahaha turbocharged…you forgot to mention the sensor pad, broadband internet connection, bluetooth and that it runs on mac OS X Tiger….just four little details. ive been waiting for this to come out for months!!!

people just buy anything they don't need these days.what's the goddamn use of that :S? i'd rather prefer a phone that just can send sms and make phonecalls.i'll get my laptop if i want to do something online.i get my camera if i want to capture something. i work as an electrical engineer,al these phones are crap. they break easily,and thepowermanagement is even worse. you pay a f'n lot,for something that lasts a year :happy: my2cents. i guess it has all to do with posing and all :P look@me kinda thing.

i thought Cisco owned the rights to the name iPhone? Either that or they got the rights/arn't selling in the country that the rights are registerd in (im not completly educated about this, so i probably got it wrong something)

Now thats the one i want, Cheap, no frills, like camera or colour screen (though the screen is cool "electrophoretic display with similarities to e-paper")
Also, from what ive read somwhere else, its cheap cause it runs a cell phone linux distro. Also it "is targeting first time wireless users". So free calls from wireless hotspots, like in MAN equiped citys (like mine) It also does GSM and CDMA
This is the golden age of phones. Tiny, linux, e-paper, wireless phones. Woot! :ninja:

Also, i fully agree with darksun, get a laptop for computing, and a camera for photos. a phone is for SMS and phone calls :ninja:

LOL its been out 48 hours and theres already a law suit….. Cisco vs. apple for trademark rights….for once an ICT lawsuit that dosent involve microsoft :)

@ Zalifer: That electrophoretic display is AWESOME on batteries. Plus, the display stays on after it's been turned off. @ mozzer: The PS3 is still my favorite, just give it time. <I hope.> @OP: That thing is supposedly $499 with a cingular contract. That's insane. $500 for a phone? I mean, it's great and all.. but $500?!
