1) Forgotten Password Function I get several emails a week saying "forgot password function didnt send me my password".
The answer is: Yes it has sent your password, but it is probably in your junk folder or just delayed.
Check your junk folder, or wait for it to arrive. If it doesnt, then do "forgot password" again.
It isnt broken.
2) Password tips If you do not stick to the two golden rules below. Then you have it comming to you. Golden Rule #1. Do not use the same password twice. Golden Rule #2. Never use a simple one word password, like "apple".
Tip is to add a couple numbers to the end of a rare word. Problem solved and its very unlikely your password will get cracked.
Why am i stating the obvious?
Because some people still use "qwerty" or "password" as their passwords and use that password for everything.
Now what happens if/when someone grabs a few HBH hashes from the database. And by a few, I mean everyones.
Yes HBH uses custom encyrption algorithm, which means someone has to get that and then write their own cracker and then go and crack each hash individually. Which someone will probably get bored 1/2 way and stop.
But.. if in the rare event that happens somewhere down the line, you want to be dam sure your hbh password isnt easily cracked by a dictionary file and that its not the same as your paypal account etc!
So if your password is easily crackable. Change it. Why not get our system to generate a secure password for you by using the "Forgot Password" Function.
3) Forum Voting System When this is released its going to be uber awesome.
Only a tiny bit of PHP left to do and its good to go. I'll get Flash to knock us up some good images for it and then it can be released.
Hopefully this will be a great success and should encourage friendly interaction and also allow for in the future for a thread search system baed on ranking etc.
Hopefully it will be out by the end of the month, or early december.

What happen with the rollback of the database ? My signature got change to what it was 1 month ago.

haha didnt HBH passwords used to be encrypted in md5? becasue i came across this little file and it had a BUNCH of hashs on it and my friends was on their and well i had to laugh….but i glanced at the chart not really taking note if it was MD5 or not…so might not have been…but anyway…custom encryption aye? thats pretty tight did the HBH admins work on this encryption?

hahahahah custom encryption, gotta love that. A little Birdie told me that it could solve it and found 2000 passes. The birdie went on to say that the passes still worked on most accounts. Crazy Bird. I told him that it wouldn't work and I couldn't go in and change peoples sigs to say they have been owned. Crazy Bird

an already public backup? why the fuck would you publicize the backup?
im hoping that was a cover up.
anyways, it should probably advise people to change their passwords. not just keep the current ones, even if they are strong. any hash can be cracked it just takes resources.
