- Exclusive Membership Phone payment system on its way.
HBH is in the process of setting up a phone payment system for EM. I know many of you have expressed concerns that you dont have a credit card and cant pay via paypal. With this new system im implenting, you can pay monthly from your mobile phone. So this should enable other people without credit cards to be able to have the benefits of Exclusive Membership. Hopefully shouldnt take longer than 2-3 weeks.

We know that quite a number of IT classes in various schools over Europe have signed up and use HBH has part of their lesson plan. To aid these classes and schools, HBH is going to develop a school specific system that will enable more structured lessons and guides for programming / security / graphics, all sorts of computer related content.
To do this properly, ideally i'd want some input from various teachers to know exactly what they want in this system, what could benefit them, and what level of content it should include.
So if you are a teacher please get in touch via email, and we can begin structuring this new system. I'm avaible for contact via my email address listed on my profile.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

so will the phone system actually credit the account or just tell you to set it up?
Mr_Cheese 17 years ago
it will take money from your mobile phone credit and then automatically update the persons account.

I actually work for the Austrlian NSW DET at numerous schools, and personally, I find content not very helpful or accrute. If you wish to discuss this you can either find me in HBH IRC or MSN ( reductor@aismail.com )

if any schools want a structured lesson plan type thingo in python i'm sure i could knock one up.

Python is a language which is not very useful, while alot of schools tend to teach it, we tend to use VB for teaching students.
Teaching python is not very useful if your expect your students to go out there in the big wide world.
Also building lessons for a class your going to have to follow the structure provided by the education department for that course on which outcomes must be achieved.
A lesson plan is often based apon the students you have, and how it is best to interact with these students to complete the lesson rather then being just one set method.

ok, i'm not going to get in a VB vs Python argument, because no one ever wins. (i'm still having on eiwth sp00ky!) but the google algorithm is written in python. consider that. i regularly use python for apps for my coroporate clients, but yeah. it was just an offer, to be taken or left.
Peace out dude.

LOL, VB SUCKS! ReDucTor, teach your students a decent language, e.g PHP, C++, ASM
ghost 17 years ago
@ReDucTor - The use of words you selected to explain how helpful this site is clearly suggests that there is a level helpfulness. Therefore I recommend that you manipulate each factor of the website to gain optimum learning. Example, if they are learning VB, get them to learn how to patch code and spot the error lines rather than the VB app telling them. Alot of the Application Challenges are coded in VB. Take bits here and there and I'm sure HbH will be the most logical lesson plan.

from my personal experience i have found that schools / collages in the uk only focus on 3 languages (html vb and pascal) this is what iv found from sitting lessons in 6 different schools / collages. Also ict focus's an enormous amount of time on softwear programs ie. how to write a letter in ms word. in 6 years iv only ever been told to program twice. once was a simple html webpage and the other was also html. (i wrote php and had it rejected cos the teacher was unable to mark it)

also well done hbh….starting to move away from the entertainment / bussines side of the site and gettiong back to the core principal. Educating those who want to learn

Back to The Flash's point, about VB, there should also be some Application Patching challenges coming soon, for example, buffer overflows in C/C++, how to patch them and shiz

ReDucTor , you are obviously the most ignorant person on earth, eve-online's serverside is completely stackless python. Google use's python in parts so does NASA, every language has it's use. python is also useful on the step to say perl or php. so stfu

I've just found this http://www.python.org/Quotes.html in looking for confirmation of my words ealier
