Forums, Shoutbox, Comments now all have a new filter. You will not be able to post in any of these services until you have completed Basic 1, and atleast one other challenge on HBH. So if you have not completed any challenges, it would be wise to complete basic 1 and another soon, so you can contribute in community discussions and questions etc.

New interview released. This one Grindordie is interviewed. To listen to this interview, click <a href="http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/54875/grindordie-mp3.html" target="_blank">here. At the moment the other interviews seem to be down, this is beacuse the website they are hosted on (filefactory) is currently down at the moment. Once FileFactory returns online, so will the other interviews.

The first PodCast is comming soon, and will be uploaded on Wednesday 10th Jan. Other podcasts are also in the making. Watch this space!

as must as i agree with the new filters the limits seems a Alittle 'relaxed' basic 1 is no problem and another challenge could be as little as using firefox. It is an improvement none the less.

Perhaps you could delete all the inactive users, that would probs make the DB faster

goodie!! i love the interview with hackers!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:p:);)
only problem is, 1 or the other speaks too quiet!… im playing it and suddenly i cant hear turns volume up next thing i know i have cheeses voice plunging into my ears lol.
on the next one try and make it so your voice's volume match please :)
ohhh also mozzer you shuold post that on the forums… im loving that idea :D

yeah….im going to have to agree with minermonk …. perhaps slightly stricter… basic1, atleast 1 other basic, and 1 other (not necessarily "other", but another") challenge

Great idea for the comment/forum/shoutbox idea.
It was kind of hard to understand Grinds accent at first xD

if you can do basic 1 then you can do basic 2 so either way it really doesn't matter. The new interview is really cool because it's nice to hear what makes other hackers tick you know. I have to agree with mozzer, deleting inactive users will make a world of difference. I'll say anybody who hasn't logged in for 3 months can be cleared of as it will make the ranking system more accurate in relation to skill and it will clear the database a bit. Can't wait for the podcasts either. Good job mr cheese! :D

In relation to mozzers post, you should have a pruned_users talbe so that if your inactive for so long of go there, but if you log back in your back into users again. Simple - Job done.

Also, as for mozzers post, Cheese is right, it wont affect the speed of the db, but it will clean it up nonetheless. Deletinginactive users within say, 4 months or so seems logical. And it would make the ranking system far more accurate like bardonicus said.

Errr… whats faster "SELECT * FROM users LIMIT 0, 10000" or "SELECT * FROM users LIMIT 0, 100" assuming the limit is the total users

true, but when do we ever use select * from users? except for the PM page, but im gonna mod that later today.

I think maybe it should be about 5 challenges for posting… Basic 1, 2, Install Firefox and JS 1 are all just things people should be able to do without any help… And 1 more… There are still some incredibly easy ones
