Site 'Reconstruction'
<img src='http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/3255/hbh4fe.gif' style='margin:3px;' align='left' height='90' width='90'> In order to maintain this community's legal structure, the HBH administration is going to be making slight changes to the community. The discussion of particularly illegal activities, (such as the distrobution of warez, specific hacking sites, and so forth,) will not be tolerated. This is necessary to keep our community afloat. As you all may have noticed, HBH is running out of hosting options. This is simply because of many peoples narrow minded idea that HBH is "illegal". So we have to crack down on the things to keep the site alive. Listed in the 'Read More' section are some other reminders for continuing to keep our community healthy and legal.
• Try and respect everyone, whether you like them or not. Take fights to private messages. Do not disrespect administrators, moderators, new members, or long-term community members alike. • Do not ask for help on the shoutbox. • Post in the correct forums and try and stick to the topic in all forums but the 'Off-Topic' forum. • The theft of articles will no longer be tolerated. If you wish to post an article written by another, have it cleared with Mr_Cheese, Grindordie, or myself. The inclusion of the source will need to be visible at the end of the post. • A formal list all of actions that may result in a warning will be posted in the future. This will be officially announced. • If you consistently break any rules, you will be removed from the community. • 'Helpful hacking' is allowed on this site, (any intrusion attempts meant only to help secure this site itself.) Any malicious activities with not only result in your removal from the community, but possible legal charges. Bugs found and properly reported will be rewarded.

no no no, no challenges will be lost. hbh will be exactly the same hbh you know. except we'll just be handing out more/harsher wanrings for people breaking the rules, and anything that might have illegal connotations will be deleted.

Think of it this way. Say I want to hack a specific site. Instead of talking about a real situation, I'd think of a fake parallel site to discuss.

"Illegal nature"? What's illegal about it, apart from stupid users posting links to whatever?
ghost 18 years ago
Illegal nature of what? The hacking site? Think about it for a moment. In the eyes of the uninformed, what IS legal about this site and its contents?

Yeah good point…Apart from all the forum threads screaming "Exploits" the rest of the site looks decently legit, like programming articles, challenges etc

This sucks.. blah.. I am building a server so.. if worste comes to worste.. I can host HBH personally..

Swift, if you would, could you contact me about all this? We can discuss specifics and if you need any help, I can be of assistance.

Problem is the stereotype of hacker. People automatically think of hollywood movies where hackers are evil people that intend to blow up the world… the banner has "hackers" in big letters, gives people bad image :(

Good post BluMoose - Too many films like Swordfish, the 'Hackers' trilogy etc. Unfortunatly, the narrow minded folk tend to believe that if your a member on a site like this - then your a cold blooded criminal.

Hackers are generally stereotyped… but having a massive "HAckers" logo and the words "Hellbound" are not the best way to be inspiring confidence in how legit the site is…
