Getting into any Windows system and getting the password!
Getting into any Windows system and getting the password!
Okay first what you should know is what SAM and SYSTEM files are, when a user is made and are given a password it gets stored in the SAM file, and the SYSTEM file is sort of like a key.
These files are kept in the /System32/config/ folder, most will be think OMG windows new levels of idiot(well old actually) but not yet, the problem is that these files are in constant use by windows, and so cant just be copied or cracked here and now. So what we need is to load the PC outside of windows, but not to open the computer preferably lol:P
For this we can use a Live disc, Like KNOPPIX or WHOPPIX( whoppix is now known as WHAX I preffer whoppix because it mounts drives as you go making it easier, also all drives are already writeable if possible. So if you don't have them go to www.knopper.net and www.iwhax.net respectivly for these discs.
Now, put the disc in and see if the computer is set to boot from disc, most are by default, if not we need access to the bios to change this, this is easy just reboot and frantically press F1 or F8, but if its password portected, just go read another article on how to bypass this its normally incredibly easy…
Now change the settiings to boot from disc to above boot from hard drive.
Follow the instructions to boot KNOPPIX(or WHAX, but WHAX is just KNOPPIX), then go to c:/WINDOWS/system32/config and copy the SAM file and SYSTEM file you may have to mount/toggle writtable on all drives, fiddle about in rightclick…
okay copy it too your USB, take it home and crack it, download a cracker, try SAMinside a demo will do,
