Deactivate Caps Lock *Forever!*
Deactivate Caps Lock *Forever!*
Hi folks! This is my first article but pls bear with me!
At writing on keyboard it happen today and every day.By mistake press a key Caps Lock, and suddenly all text is writing in capitals. Hate it so much that you want deactivate this key?So read this article ;)
Through many users unwanted function Caps Lock irritate so much, that they scrap it from activities by the help of several drops second glue. :) Or key take out and left over "stump" block bit metal. :D But we can do it more simply and elegant! Function Caps Lock it is possible deactivate new sum in system register. If you want so do, click on Start | start , enter regedit and acknowledge OKS , whereby start editor register. In him cross over with immediate entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SYSTEM | Current ControlSet | control | Keyboard Layout . Be careful and look that you not use, closely below recumbent key Keyboard Layouts (with "s" at the end)!
Ok and now do this: On Keyboard Layout right click with mouse button and select New and Binary value . New sum assign tittle Scancode Maps and value 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 3a 00 00 00 00 00 . Warning ! Among "Scancode" and "Maps" must be space .
From next computer boot Caps Lock will be inactive ;) If you want activate it again, just remove new sum from register…
Please rate this article :)
Good luck

nice :). Some questions: How do you know the value is for caps lock and if a virus has deactivated F8 would I be able to activate it by deleting the sum. I'm asking this cuz my friend got a virus and is unable to reinstall windows cuz the F8 button is deactived.

plural of virus is viruses or virus, this is English, not Latin. Even if we were using latin plurals, it would still be viri, like loci or alumni. Anyway, the question is whether you can permanently lock your cap locks button. Then if anyone asks whether your cap locks is broken, you can say yes, yes it is.:D Interesting to know though, probably alot more applications to scancode keymapping then just messing with cap locks.

This has been around forever, Found my regeditor script: Copy this to notpad and save as Caps.reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout] "Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,3a,00,00,00,00,00
Lot's easier. Good article though.
