Hydrogen: The Easy way
ghost | 5058 Reads | Hello it's SANTA here, before i got into hacking i used to love pyrotechnics. Now i saw the amount of reads that AC1D's article got and i saw that he had made hydrogen the hard way. So i have decided to educate you all on the easier way to make the most deadly gas known to man.
You will need.
- Wine bottle
- Liquid Draino (or other drain cleaner)
- Aluminium Foil
- Baloon
- Tape
Procedure.

Prepare your wine bottle by cleaning the inside of it to make sure it is not dirty.

Take some aluminum foil, roughly 30cm long and scrunch it into a loose ball that you can fit into the neck of the bottle. (the looser the foil the faster the reaction will occur)

Fill one third of your wine Bottle with draino.

Drop in the aluminum foil.

Secure the baloon over the neck of the bottle with some tape.
As the drano and the aluminum foil come into contact with each other the draino begins to melt the aluminium foil. And give off hydrogen after roughly 4-5 minutes the baloon will be full of hydrogen.
You can experiment with different gas holding vessels but i found a baloon works best because when its full you can hold a match infront of the neck and have a easy flasmethrower with a range of roughly 3 metres.

if it is pure hydrogen then just tie it up chuck a match at it and cover your ears :D much funner

Cool, i think i saw this on TV or in class i get them mixed up sometimes but still i forgot so now i can threaten my neighbors xD and btw Ac1d only got that many reads from his best friend…F5 (shh, dont tell him i told you ;))

yeah juan thats right it is the article from a cookbook. thats a good book im suprised no one ahs found it yet consideering it tells you how to makea beigebox

Hey, nice article. This seems way easier than ac1d's. There's something like this in the anarchist cookbook, but I don't think it's the exactly same thing. But anyways, enough rambling, good job, gonna have to try this, (for educational purposes of course, :P).

LOL i thought so to ast the same time and was reluctant to try but then my dad did it so i did it and suprisingly so you get not exploding balloons

I used to do this with Pop Bottles and put the tin foil at the bottom, and pour in the draino. After that I screwed on the cap and threw it, quite a big boom

it better if you rip the aluminum up into little piece to increase the surface area so the chem rxn will happen faster.
