Gaining Access

SO…you've found a nice looking computer and you think to yourself, "self…I would really love to use that thing." Well, this should give you a few options to try.

Windows 98:

Yes, I know this is a hella old OS, but it does have a few nice exploits and some schools (my old one for example)are ghetto and still use it.

  1. At the log in screen most computers let you hit cancel and you logon as a default user.
  2. Once you've done that, to gain full access Start>Run>msconfig>System.ini
  3. Turn off the pw for the use you want, goto control panel and alter their pw there. Go back and turn it back on

Voila!

Windows XP:

Restart the computer and while its booting press F8. This will give you the option for safe mode. Many stupid admins( and most personal computers) will have it so you can log in that way…create your own ADMIN acct and rock out!

So your already on the computer, but you've got some blocks to deal with…here are some apps you can use to get past.

If you have…

Microsoft Word: type a url in and that should open IE

IE: You can use it for typing directories (C:\) or for command.com to run command prompt.

NotePad: write a batch that says either http:\\www.google.com which will get you IE or @echo off command @echo on (thanks to chilton)

A blank CD: Believe it or not alot of Admins forget to turn of the "access the directory" xp thing when you put a writable cd in the drive…

Another nice little trick is using the wonderful net commands…but i'll leave that to ya'll to research.

These work at alot of schools because school admins aren't very good.

Bess? God I hated that program! >_< Most horrific thing to ever put in front of a little kid lol. As for the net commands. I know that

c:\>net user c:\>net user (name given) * Then type the new password you want and confirm it by typing it again. (It won't look like you are typing but you are) Not sure how well it works, only learned about it recently and haven't gotten to fool around with it much… My computer is being a prick with Safe Mode so I can't try a default log in and doing it from there.

there are other ways. one way to bypass things its get a thumbdrive and goto http://www.linuxquestions.org/ and download damned small linux, put that on your thumbdrive and you can run your own instance of linux. This way you dont have any of their security holds and you can work around the proxy/filter better. also, if you are in a school with decent computers that have bluetooth, and you have a decent cell plan that doesnt own you on minutes, bluetooth to your cell phone and use it as a modem.
