Many people see hacking websites such as this one as a threat and a serious problem. I am going to write about a few of the Pro’s of websites such as this and a few cons (if i can think of more than one).

Pro’s:

Websites such as this one has many pro’s and to most people a shock how many more Pro’s there are than con’s.

One of the main Pro’s of web sites such as this one is for first of all learning exploits (this could be a con). As web masters can sign up to sites like this one and learn about all the diffrent types of exploits there are avaliable, this will then give them the knowledge to try these exploits out in there own designs. Therfor making websites and the World Wide Web a safer place in genral.

Another Pro is when people are in an enviroment with a ranking system in place people become more determined to complete challanges and score well in the rankings (in genral, does not matter to all people) this then gives them the will power to go out and by books look at online tutorials tyo better them selfs. This tends to teach people alot of web based scripting launuages and any other launguage they belive to be useful.

Many of these types of web sites have a Logical challange section, ths widens peoples brains and helps them think alot more logical and how to think about how things can work or to be fixed.

Con’s

The main con about these sites is they give spiteful people or people who want to be known on the internet the knowlede to learn how to deface websites. But there are a lot more ethical hackers around tahn these.

It also gives these spiteful hackers a place to meeet up and talk so they can work together to deface things. But if you are using a good site such as this one they have strict rules and admins to stop these actions by removing certain content and blocking IP address to give people a ban.

So in conclousion the Pro’s out weigh all of the Con’s. If the web site teaching the exploits is well maintained there is not a problem with these sites. So all the people against hacking sites please take in to consideration that hackers are not evil as the media portray them to be many of them have ethics and are learning for a good reason. This sometimes means ethical hackers go on to the World Wide Web and deface the occaional site but this is normally because it’s somthing that should not be on the Internet such as KKK web sites and Nazi web sites.
